Three new photographers, a new server, a new distribution platform
In the beginning of 2011, Sea&Co is pleased to announce a series of good news and major changes.
First of all the team is expanding with the addition of three new photographers, including two non-French.
To start with, Jacques Vapillon who left a traditional photo agencies to join us. He is one of the great figures of the sailing scene in France who practices with talent since 1985. Many of his images are well known to us all.
Sander van der Borch is a very promising and talented Dutch photographer. He already has been following all the major international races like the 33rd America's cup, Audi Med Cup and the Louis Vuitton Trophy. In addition of being a sailor on various types of race boats, he is the official team photographer for Artemis Racing.
Finally, Oskar Kihlborg from Sweden was the official photographer for Ericsson Racing Team in the last Volvo Ocean Race. His range of often different angled photography stretches from Mega Yachts in the Caribbean to World Championship in ice sailing.
The other big news is the launch of a new version of our photo server; www.seaandco.net. This new server, hosted by our provider Net-folio, will notably provide better access to our central archive and will help the photographers to upload their images even quicker.
Another great novelty, photographs of the Sea&Co server will now be available on PixPalace.
PixPalace has become the standard on the French market for professional image research. It is an intermediary that brings together the images produced by a hundred photo agencies on one side and broadcasts the images via servers installed directly in the major French media and publishing houses on the other side. PixPalace is also operating in the U.S. and China and has more than 650 customers to date.
Finally, the last good news: thanks to our long term relationship with Open 60's skippers and their partners, Sea & Co becomes the official partner of the IMOCA.
